First the quality of the cuts, and hole location were great. Super solid construction and design. As is everything I’ve ever got from you folks.
And a little constructive criticism, if you don’t mind. Please put some preservative on the small parts. My gears arrives with surface rust. Not cool for a $400+ product. A few shots of LPS-3 before shipping, and problem solved. And for the two shafts, I’d have preferred to see them made of 4140 TG&P not plain old 4140 mill finished bar stock.
If you offered a generic/universal motor mount plate, I’ll bet you’d sell them no problem. Just a simple 1/4” x 3”x 5” plate with 3/4” and 7/8” holes on 3” centers, along with a bushing that’s 1/4” longer than the standard bushing on the drive side. The end user could take it from there. Place the plate over the head of the shoulder bolt, and the drive shaft( along with the longer bushing ), weld the plate to the head of the shoulder bolt, and then adapt the motor of choice to the plate. Everything will pivot as one with the gearbox.
All in all, you guys did a great job, but it could use a few refinements that are easy and cheap to do.
